Ezekiel Oseni

Ezekiel is an accomplished professional. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Accounting from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and a Ph.D. in Business and Applied Economics from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria. He is an alumnus of prestigious Lagos Business School, Imperial College Business School, London, Galilee International Management Institute, Israel

He led the restructuring of risk management function in Bank of Industry after successfully establishing the Internal Control and Audit Division making the Bank a global best practice compliant in every aspect of risk management including ESG risks. He supervised the design and implementation of the Bank’s Enterprise-wide Risk Management (ERM) Framework in 2013. His unwavering devotion to implementing the ERM framework contributed to the Bank’s first-ever rating of A- from a domestic rating agency (Agusto & Co.) in 2014.  Under his watch as the Chief Risk Officer, the Bank in 2015 and 2016, was able to secure AA+ (nga) and AA1 ratings from Fitch and Moody’s respectively. Up till his exist from the Bank in October, 2023, the bank was among the few best rated banks in Nigeria from all its rating agencies (Fitch, Moody’s S&P and Agusto & Co). He was an active member of the team that raised over $5 billion for the Bank from foreign capital markets between 2019 and 2023..

He was the MD/ CEO of National Economic Reconstruction Fund (NERFUND) from July, 2016 to December, 2017 and earned a letter of commendation from the FGN through Federal Ministry of Finance for a job well done.

Ezekiel is a fellow of many professional Institutes including Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and Chartered Risk Management Institute of Nigeria. He is a certified information system auditorand a honorary member of the Charted Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.  He is the current President and Chairman of Council of the Chartered Risk Management Institute of Nigeria.  He is an accomplished academic with teaching and research experience from several universities including University of Ilorin and Obafemi Awolowo University where worked full-time for sometime. He has over 50 publications in respected academic journals across the globe. He is currently a professor of accounting and finance at Babcock University and an adjunct lecturer to University of Lagos where he taught on post-graduate programmes in the Department of Banking and Finance and theUniversity Business School. He had served on the Board of several companies including Ladol, Amo Byng Nigeria Limited, Lucky Fibre and New Engineering Works. He is a member of the Debt Capital Markets Development Project (DCMD Project)Infrastructure Finance Sub-Committee of FMDQ.
